    Hi,

I'm looking for a good bike route to go from near Bath to Nottingham
avoiding M-ways. Some nice B roads would be good :)

    Some useful suggestions appreciated.

    TIA, M

When going from A to B I tend to stick to B roads.

A46 to Coventry; Bath to Stroud should keep you amused.

After that, **** knows. You need a Midlander to give you details.

    Oi! Champ, any ideas?

A46 to the Cross Hands hotel
Right onto B4040 towards Acton Turville
At Malmesbury go onto A429 to Cirencester
Onto B4425 to Bibury and Burford
A361 to Chipping Norton and Banbury

After that, you'll need to ask someone from the Midlands. Oi, Wavydavy
    - how about some suggestions?

    Go North-East.
    Mind the hedges.

Well, A46 to Cheltenham. Thereafter it becomes all a bit main-roady.

I'm looking for a good bike route to go from near Bath to Nottingham
Bath A46 - Tetbury - Cirencester then take the Fosse Way all the way
to Leicester. From there you are so close to Nottingham that a quick
blast up either up M1 or A6 - Loughborough then A60 into Nottingham.

    somehow managed to post:
From Coventry, take the A444 past Nuneaton, towards Burton.
Quick blat up the A42 (Dual) for two junctions.
Right onto the A512 towards Loughborough,
After about 1 mile turn left onto the B5324
A quick left/right over the A6 and pick up the A6006
At Rempstone take the A60 to Nottingham.

The Fosse Way goes through Bath and close to Nottingham.
Don't say that the Romans never did anything for you.

At the A5 turn left then right back onto the Fosse Way to Leicester.
It's just as quick as the M69 and more interesting.
There is no nice route from Leicester to Nottingham so you
might as well stay on the Fosse and turn left on the A606.

Not sure about first bit of this, but, assuming that speed is not of the
    essence, I'd go:

    Burford
    Bicester
    Buckingham
Bit of shite stuff round Northampton
    A43 to Kettering
    A6003 to Oakham
    A606 to Melton
    A6006 All_the_way to the A6 near Kegworth.
Then double back and go to Rempstone and take the A60....

The first 5 on the list are just points to aim near, to get you to the A606
and A6006, tbh... Actually, I'd be tempted to take the A43 all the way to
the A1 near Stamford and join the 606 there....

That looks good. In the past I lost the fosseway near coventry and
ended up on the M69 :-(

Better get my map out again.
