No, really, buy his VTR250 instead. Honest.
Far, far better bike, and in good nick.

Plus, this week only, we'll throw in a free phone call from Katho
to convince wifey that bikes are less painful than babies!

    Morphet's wife here.

for the record I have no objection, ok well I have some but I've told
him I won't stop him if he wants to a bike it's his decision. I'm the
practical one who knows we don't have the money at the moment... we're
    currently building a house!

Good to see a newsgroup with people who are all nice and respectful to
    one another :)

Being practical "Morphet's wife" if you let him have this you'll have a lot less
trouble keeping the financial screws on elsewhere - he'll have something that's
obviously important to him - you have to have some fun even when you're saving
for a house. Otherwise lots of negative energy builds up and screws up
    relationships

My 2 cents worth, spend it how you will.

the same could be said about the 68cm tv, dvd, surround sound, brand
new computer..... he doesn't do without!... he earns the money the
decision is his not mine! But he knows ,I think ,that we just don't
have the money now. We just sold our second car to get us out of debt
and to save us the money. We reasoned that we couldn't afford 2 cars
and a morgage... I know, I know bikes are cheaper, but they still need
to be registered, maintained and insured. Plus as he says himself as
soon as he gets this bike there is sure to be some thing else he
wants! I have reservations about motorbikes, not his skill or ability
but all the idiots out there on the roads that don't watch out for
bikes. ( this comes from 2 uncles and 1 brother who have had bikes and
had many bad accidents) I kinda like the husband I got the way he is.
But ifhe wants a motorbike I'll support him and just chew my nails
until he's home safely every night. Anyway I told him we're going to
win powerball this week and then he can have any one he wants!

thanks for the advice though, it's advice I've always lived by
    anyway... hence the dvd etc!

This sounds very fimilar. The fiance and I got rid off a car (just
happened to be mine) since I owed more on it. 16 months later, no car
debts. Hers or mine. Plus we also have a house as of about 3 months
    ago.

I think you are on the right track. Keep up the saving, it will pay
    off in the end.
And if you are going to win powerball, maybe you could share with me
the winning numbers (just so I can pay off the house)

Nice to know I'm not such an ogre! If I new the winning powerball
numbers I'd share but I'm buying a quick pick and hoping for the
best.... never say never ........my cousin won tatts once. I don't
want to win a huge amount, enough to pay out morgage, buy hubby a
bike, both of us a new car, and an overseas trip. $500,000 outta do
    it!
