Well, the good news is: I've hidden the missus's presents somewhere where
    she'll never ever find them...

And the bad news is that you've forgotten where they are?

I do that. The girlfriend's house has it's uses.

Yes, indeed. I remember getting them home so I know they're in the house
but we seem to have accumulated 25+ years of junk^H^H^H^H useful stuff and I
suspect it's somewhere amongst it all. I'm not sure whether to tear the
house apart, rush out and buy it all over again or sit down in front of the
telly with a couple of beers and try to remember what I did with it.

I found them! They were in the garage in an old top box I kept off my Super
Dream (vintage 1979). Funny thing is, I don't remember putting them in
    there...

    Phew!

Daft thing is, it's a rubbish top box but the keys, fittings, screws, etc
are all in an envelope taped to the inside of the lid waiting for the day of
resurrection which I know deep in my heart will never come. Whilst I was
searching I found the horn I took off my Suzuki T500 in about 1974 when I
fitted a pair of FIAMM air horns. I almost threw it in the bin but first I
stuck it across a battery charger. It worked, so I thought I'd better hang
    on to it JIC...
