Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in the SF Bay area. I have a 1987
BMW 325es. I've had little success in finding someone that is reliable
    and not too expensive. Thanks,

Hmm. Is that one of the rumored BMW twins? 325es ... that's an odd
designation for a BMW motorcycle; they're usually R, K, or F followed by
a number followed by one or two more letters. 325 is pretty small ...
must be a big scooter or something.

In that case, I can recommend See's Car Care, 345 Gough Street, SF. He
was my mechanic for all the years I lived in the Bay Area and had cars
    (67-71, 77-91).

BMW makes *cars*? Wow. Nice to see they've joined Honda, a famous
motorcycle manufacturer that added cars to their lineup.

You're thinking of Krupp the coffee-maker-maker who added cannons to
    their lineup.

Subsidiary or whatever, not the same. They also made kitchen appliances
    after the war then motorcycles.

Among other things. Actually, they still do, although perhaps not
intentionally. The boxer engines are excellent for lightplane use.

I was just thinking what a pity it is that Daimler-Benz dropped
motorcycles from their lineup. After all, Daimler invented the
    motorcycle.

Hm. That would have been neat. I'm sad about Porsche's half-assed entry
into the motorcycle market. Done right, they could have given BMW a
    serious problem.
