Sure, but they don't even have the excuse of hiding behind leaves...

Not really. It's an old fool trotting out platitudes that he read in a
    book once.

Just occasionally the 'blunt northerner' approach hits the nail firmly
on the sweet spot. Well done.

Well I certainly didn't steal bikes as a teenager (or at any other
time) and I'm pretty certain none of my friends did but I still feel
entitled to comment on the matter.

I know I'm repeating myself but my biggest problem is with people that
think a teenager on a crosser must have nicked it.

  7. It's reckoned that if the 'ageing gene' was switched off you would still
die before 150, getting yourself killed, getting cancer, shot at, at 149
by a jealous husband, while being shagged by his gorgeous 20 year old
    wife. etc.

People would still die of disease, you've got to find a fix for every
one too. Even the rare ones nobody has heard of, and nobody spends any
    money on. :(

I think I might have read that: wasn't there something about cars
having jets of air that shot over the windscreen too, to simulate the
wind, except that it always started a fraction too late?

Can't remember much else except that ISTR it was a short-ish story,
    maybe a novella.

  11. I'll happily hunt down and seriously "inconvience" the kneecaps of any
**** who nicks any of my stuff. I'm still looking for someone...

  12. So, we may consider that by killing one today, we have diminished future
    over-population problems?
    Ok by me.

One of the consultants at Bristol Royal Infirmary gave a lecture along
those lines a few years back. Basically our lifespan is about
threescore years and ten and everything we do to extend it brings us
up against another disease. It used to be heart disease that was the
big killer, now it's cancer in one form or another. If we lick cancer
then something else will come along. We're all doomed I tell you!

Yep, they can give you some drug to make the symptoms better.. they've
got to find a way of not making the medications kill you in long term
    usage though.

You're clearly not up-to-date on some of the actual cures for cancer
we've been putting out in the last few years.
