Because, YTC, if you do not regard my life as precious then I must

There's a big difference between not caring (I don't actually 'care'
if someone dies on a bike) and accusing the person who's died of being
a bike thief or saying they're no loss.

I originally had a go at Sean about his post and then someone else
pops up with a load of bollocks about bike thieves and I find myself
wondering what these cunts did when they were teenagers?

    Bullshit.

Your actual words are below so you can read them again and see where
    you said it was stolen:
Obviously you feel strongly about people nicking bikes but we were
talking about a kid crashing his bike, someone coming out with a
pathetic comment about it and you saying you believed the bike was
    stolen.

I've always held that for every punter that pops off prematurely,
prior to seeing out their allotted span, that behoves the rest of us
to live a bit longer than they did, just to redress the balance.

OTOH, the droves of chavs-in-shellsuits who have innumerable children
justify my decision not to have brats of my own, in order to redress
    the 2.4 sprog balance.

I ask myself that question whenever this holier-than-they attitude
surfaces. Like riding without tax, insurance, helmet, licence, brakes,
lights, or whatever. I think anyone that's not done themselves the
stuff they're criticising others for shouldn't be allowed to comment.

I dare say the same thought might cross my mind for an instant on first
discovering someone had stolen my bike. Not that I have one stolen for
over 40 years now TBF. But, then I would think it through and realise
that there are people out there that did stupid and illegal things when
they were young that I would rather be around than some who never did
anything 'wrong' (or at least never admit to it or got caught for it).

Steve McQueen comes to mind. I don't think he ever stole a bike, but he
was a bit of a 'lad' in his youth.

Vengeance is mine/poetic justice eh? I can imagine feeling like that if
someone had killed a member of my family, but over an inanimate object?

For the one Lozzo posted about, yes.
    I agree, if they're just being young & stupid[1]. I wouldn't wish them
dead, but wouldn't give a shit if they did die unless I knew them.
Career thiefs are a different matter though - they're the ones I'd like
to see kill themselves in the course of their 'business'.

[1] They should just be given to the victim as a slave until they've
paid off any costs incurred at minimum wage rates.

Where does it say that? What he said was "No great loss" which is far
removed from the words you lot are putting into his mouth (keyboard).

Fair enough. So long as they don't take anyone 'innocent' with them as
    it were.
A sort of personalised community service scheme. I can see
administrative and human rights details needing sorting out, but your
    basic idea has great merits.

Didn't say what? "No great loss" is exactly what he wrote, and that
bit up there ^ is directly from your post.
I did? Not from the post I replied to, I didn't.
That would be good, yes as IMO he's getting undue stick for something
    he didn't actually write.
I think he meant what he wrote.

Anyway, there's too much confuision now as to what Sean did/didn't
write and did/didn't think so I'll leave it up to him to explain,
    should he so wish.

A lot of people do stupid things when they're young. A lot of those
people turn out alright in the end, given a bit of direction. I've had
things nicked and broken into and, while I'd happily wish the miscreant
a significant amount of inconvenience, that's all a theft really
entails. Wishing someone dead over an inconvenience is, really,
    unwarranted.

I'll stick with my initial assessment - you're a wanker.

In the case of Lone Wolf, I think it's a 'rufty tufty outlaw biker' type
thing to say; the sort of thing that people pay lip service to, because
it fits part of an image they want to get over.

Top marks for being obtuse. I meant he didn't say "getting killed by
hitting a tree while riding the off road bike is suitable punishment for
    such behaviour."
    <patient>

I meant, that quite rightly, you could argue that *I* couldn't possibly
know what was in Sean's mind when hew wrote what he did write - "No
    great loss".

"No great loss". A bit ambiguous. Which is why if you quote me correctly
you will note I said "Sean ****apparently**** thinks that getting killed
by hitting a tree while riding the off road bike is suitable punishment
for such behaviour". That was the meaning , rightly or wrongly, apparent
    to me.
    Agreed.

    Fair comment.

Many, perhaps all, UKRMers show such perverse dichotomy sometimes. I
ought to be used to it by now.
