It's just gone midnight and some local lad has decided that right now
-, in the damp and fog - is the best time to go haring throuh the
village on his 2-stroke crosser with no lights or number plate, on the
back wheel for the best part of it. I'll give him some credit, he is
wearing a leather jacket and lid.

Used to happen a lot when I worked for Ericsson. Some lad on a crosser
would go flying about up and down the road, over the banks in the car
park.. until one day he didn't come around any more. Turns out that he
died after hitting a tree outside our building. Oops.

    Pathetic.

Do you make comments like that every time you hear somebody had died
    riding a bike?

Funnily enough, I do when the person concerned had stolen the bike.

Where did the poster say the bike was stolen?

It just pisses me off when a kid enjoying himself on a bike dies and
someone comes out with statements like the one I originally replied
to. I could almost understand it if it came from someone who doesn't
ride bikes but he does so it just makes him sound like a worthless
    ****.

It's weird. Sean has claimed to be the youngest poster here. Yet, some of
his recent posts have the air of a reactionary old git. I suspect he has
come under the influence of the railways' anti-sweller and has taken to
    reading the Daily Star.

He's got form. I had a pop at him back in February. He was prattling on
about a mate of his passing his DAS test and getting an R6.

Guess we'll just have to accept the fact that he's a reactionary old
    **** trapped in a 20 somethings body.

The poster more than likely didn't.
    I did, and still do.

Ditto. . . but when the kid is enjoying himself on a bike stolen from
myself, then I am more than happy should he get killed on it.

Lozzo didn't. Krusty implied it. Lone Wolf agrees and seemed to be
suggesting that the original lad in question wouldn't last long riding
at night with no lights. He also seems to be in favour of a penalty of
capital punishment for taking and driving away offences.

Muck was talking about what sounds like a bit of regular improvised MX
practice. No suggestion that the bike mentioned was stolen.

Sean apparently thinks that getting killed by hitting a tree while
riding the off road bike is suitable punishment for such behaviour.

I have to impress upon my lad occasionally that sliding off is one
thing, but hitting a tree full on even at the modest speeds he can
attain on his YZ85 is another. Fortunately he has had a couple of
sufficiently bruising encounters with solid objects that he is being
more circumspect at the 'chateau' now, where there is no shortage of
trees. So hopefully he won't be supplying Muck with a new set of lungs.
They would be a bit small anyway.
