As this is a bikes newsgroup and all that, here's the on topic post for
    the year.

Having had some Avon Azaro ST AV45/46 (a bit of a keyboard full) fitted
almost recently I thought I'd better check the pressures the other day
to see how they're holding up. Then I realised I've not got the
    pressures for these tyres.

I emailed Avon to ask. I forgot to include the tyre sizes, and just
said the tyre and the bike. Within an hour I had my pressures mailed
back to me. No messing about, no fuss.

I'm also happy with the tyres. They coped well on a recent MIRTTH type
run out, and although they didn't keep the heat too well[1] they did
grip and felt pretty good. I'm still being a bit wary with them being
new, but I'm more than happy so far.

Only bad point is there seems to be a vibration, which is either down to
the tread pattern[2] or badly balanced wheels. As it's both wheels I'm
leaning to the former, but I've never noticed badly balanced wheels.

    Further investigation to be done.

[1] The temp was about 0 degrees, so not surprising really.
[2] quite wide, deep grooves. Setting off with gusto occasionally makes
the rear squirm side to side, I suspect the pattern to be the cause of
that - an alternating diagonal lines pattern.

I found on the Pan, that after a couple of hundred miles they stop doing
    that and settle down.

I'm fucking glad I bought the Avons. I've already done more miles on
them than I ever got from a rear 020, and they are both hardly worn.
Plus they are much more confidence inspiring in the wet and dry.

I never noticed that at all, and still think they're the best tyres I've
    ever used.

If I get a sportsbike I'd be interested in trying their av49/50 combo as
    well.

Have you /ever/ set off with gusto? You only feel it under hard
breaking and acceleration as you start and stop - poddling along at
    28mph it's fine...
If they stick as well as the 45/46's they'll be a good tyre choice.

I stuck them on my Pan in July - it was like I had bought a new bike.
The 020's were a bit like a set of puncture proof tyres they tried
selling for MTBs a few years ago that were basically slightly spongy
solid rubber that had all the grip characteristics of eels
