    Sniffle.

The guy who won it emailed me last night to say he wanted to pick it up this
evening. He and a mate got a lift down from where he lives (Melton
Mowbray), handed over a fistful of cash and buggered off on the outfit.
They should be nearly home by now...

Well, I took him out for a quick spin round the block, then let him do the
same with me in the chair giving policy. He seemed to cope pretty well.

OTOH the phone rang about five minutes after they set off, and I thought...

They were bikers, used to Harleys and similar shit. They'll cope.

Just phoned him. They're on the side of the M6 waiting for the RAC, having
    run out of petrol...

He chose the M6 as a route back to Melton Mowbray from yours?

I think petrol is the least of his concerns.

They were talking about the Fosse Way. They had a map.

    <shrug>

If they were on here, they'd be looking at SKoGA and Petrol Muppet numbers.
And very possibly a YTC, not least for being drunk in charge of an ebay
account (a contributory factor, oh yes).

That's just down the road from me. If I see it I'll let you know.

And where is yours? Just I can guage exactly how stupid the stupid
fucker was on the return leg.

Thornbury, just north of Bristol. They set off just after 7:00PM. I'd
warned them that it would take them 4 or 5 hours to get home. I reckon
they've decided that the Fosse would be too slow, and chosen to hit the
M5/M6 and rant the tits off it all the way home. So, 100Km/h cruise and the
petrol vanishing rapidly - which they were also warned about...

  15. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, platypus
More likely they were trying to get to Melton Mowbray without having to
    turn right.

Its mine that's disinclined to turn right. TBH, it's not overly keen on
    lefts either.

On lefts, zoom up to the corner at full tilt, snap it shut and it'll whip
round like an infuriated monotreme. On the rights, slow in and power
through. You'll be okay until the rear shocks bottom. You need to make it
    /want/ to turn...

I've got the hang of that; its above 50 mph it all goes horribly wrong.

Obviously you shouldn't be taking it over 50, except on the straight bits.
