    Heh, it was a bit.

I blame the Osprey and naturally, Bear, for suggesting I try it.

I put vacuum cleaner brushes in my old RD200, they lasted 3 months
    before they were shagged again.

I think that alternator brushes may be of the harder variety then. That
    is good to know.

I thought WC seemed a bit more pickled than he usually got. :)

Ah, well: at least I've now got no decision to make about what bike to
    take next week.

That's also the RBR done and dusted for the year.

    Bollocks.

Well, I could, I suppose, but I've got 6 weekends left to do it in,
four of which are booked up, and I've still got Scotland, Wales and N
    England to do.

I could take some leave, I guess, but I'm saving as much as I can for
    our NZ trip next March.

Kill it off early this year, and go for a full on attack next summer,
    I reckon.

No worries ) I'll sneak a go when the queue dies down sometime in the
    near future.

  11. And you'd better pray that they don't actually manage to blockade the
refineries from Wednesday. If they do and the petrol runs out I think
you may struggle to get the CBX there and back if its fuel consumption
is as dire as you have suggested.

  12. What he said - I've had a Suzuki alternator rewired before now, by a
specialist. Cost less than 50 quid.

And there are plenty of people offering beefed-up reg/rec units as well,
    now.

  13. That's not enough. Should be 12.2-12.5v.
Rest, as others say, points to a fecked alternator or reg/rec or both.

    Good man.

Your posts from last night were a bit, erm, random shall we say.

    Result.

Banjax will have a look at it, but their pet alternator bloke is on
    holiday till next week.

Inquired after postage on that sooper-dooper one, but it looks like
postage will approach $100, then Uncle Gordon will want his cut when
ParcelForce deliver it. No change out of £400 there, I reckon.
