Going the wrong way

    East to west along the A127 near Basildon this morning in the cage
    looking for some gardening stuff. Then there's lots and lots of two
    wheels all around on the other side, some going broom broom, others
    buzz buzz, and yet more going vroooooooooommmmmmm. Was there a special
    event or is the natural pull of dear old Southend.

    Even saw some mobile hair driers. Couldn't but think of the bad old
    days of mods and rockers. But hey all those bikes, must have been
    hundreds over a few miles lovely sight.


    By the way anyone know the collective noun for a group of bikes?
    Perhaps some could be, a pack of Harleys (sorry for mentioning the
    unforgivable), a buzz of scooters (as above), a zoom of sports bikes, a
    trundle of tourers.

    crippled kids in all probability.

    Take a tip from the name used by our Gendarmerie nationale, for their
    bike squads: 'escadron'.

    To save you looking it up in a dictionary, 'escadron' is French for
    'squadron'.

    Four or more bikes, I call 'a flight'.

    Paging DP:

    I'm told there was a big scooter rally in Great Yarmouth this weekend.
    Oh how I laughed watching them break down on the A47 going up there on
    Friday. Pity it was absolute thick fog for the entire weekend (when it
    wasn't raining).. I suspect it may take some of them all week to get
    home.
