Wonderfully hot day today in Newcastle , went out for a ride around tyne
valley, and got caught in the thunderstorm to end all thunderstorms. No
waterproofs, so I am suitably drenched. But hey what great fun, Even got
splattered by hail at one point. Never realised getting soaked was so
    much fun.

Why did i wait till I was 37 to get a bike??

Because your mid-life crisis/divorce/depression* hadn't kicked in yet.

"Mid life", Ivan. If you dropped dead now that would make it a minimum age
    of about 90.

  7. I got my first bike at 16, not exactly mid life but it made it far
    more interesting.

I didn't actually get my first bike until I was 21/2. Does a mobilette
moped 6 years before count? For obvious reasons I won't mention the
LD125 which, along with and Issetta bubble car an Austin Cambridge
Estate a rather green MG midget and a Hillman Super Minx, filled the
    gap.
