Gobert to race WSS?!!?

Surprising given he is racing a Honda in the Aus Superbikes - although a
shop supported (Red Wing) one

**** me; he raced World Superbikes at Phillip Island only 8 races and he
won 5 of them! (And this includes 2 races on the theoretically
uncompetitive Bimota SB6 and one race [his first] where he was employed
solely to be tail-gunner for Scott Russell)
He's up against Kev Curtain and Josh Brookes (and Broc Parkes) as well as
the filthy foreigners.

Man I'm gonna' be glued to the fence for this one!

 

I was at PI in 93 or 94 when he won his first WSBK race... but the
better race was the one he didn't win. He ran off the track right in
front of us at Southern loop on the first lap and spent the rest of the
race riding his way back up to the points from the back of the field. I
think Foggy won that one.
