    Hi All,

Can someone tell me if there is stuff I can get to increase the performance
    of my XT600.

There must be better exhaust pipes, carby bits, computer chips, etc.

    Fit an R1 motor?
I think the R1 has better versions of all the above.

    - Remove "snorkel" (airbox lid), adjust jetting (don't try it without
    jetting, it will
run very lean). Real cheap, real improvement. Getting decent jetting dialled
    in
on the YDIS carb set up is "interesting".

    - Aftermarket exhaust from someone who can show graphs and numbers on
performance increase, not just more sound. I'm quite pleased with my French
CRD full system. Might need another go at the jetting game.

    - Total carb replacement. Rumour has it that this is wonderful and it better
be to for the cost involved. I think it's better to save the money and trade
    in
the XT for the bike you really want.

    - Computer chip, you must be joking. Stone axes don't do high tech.

I bought one new in August of this year. I felt a bit more go might be
needed but after research have concluded that excitement can be had without
    spending money on tuning bits.

    1. Accept that 80 mph is enough from the chassis.
    2. Accept that overtaking cars that are doing 70 mph is hard.
    3. Drive on tight bendy roads such as the mountain road from Rhayader to
    Aberystwth.
    4. Don't slow down for bends.
    5. When riding on single track roads overtake cars by going on the
    grass/gravel.
    6. Brake late.

I shall ride mine for 3 years and then get an XT660 water cooled new thingy.
Unless I catch premature aging and buy a CG 125 (sohpr).
