  1. The system I had in my Range Rover was like that and worked fine; Until
I upgraded to a new chip for the ECU and a new distributor and stepper
motor closed loop for the gas control. Another 3 miles to the gallon (a
considerable increase on a 4 litre Rangey) and incredible amounts of
improved torque plus a super top end rush (better breathing than on
    petrol).
Simple - go closed loop young man. The difference is chalk and
    dairylea Enough to be noticable).
Maybe a bit over the top on a SOC.

Hmm well there is a stepper in the gas kit I got off the rangie. I'd
need to put a Lambda sensor into the exhaust manifold though.

The expensive bit is that I'd need to get a hotwire type airflow meter
and Rangie ECU too. Or pay Mark Adams lots of wonga to rechip my Lucas
    4CU item.
Hey, my 350i might be old, but not Shite!

And no, I don't know why I smudged out the number plate either really.

  3. The work of few moments with a drill and a welder - just weld a nut of
the right size onto the downpipe.
Under 50 quid for both in any scrap yard of your choice.

Hmmm. My engine's a 3.5 though. Maybe an airflow meter and ecu designed
for a bigger engine might be ok when the turbo goes on the front. :)

  5. Be alright anyway - it's only matching the fuel to airflow - it doesn't
care if it's a 3.5 at full chat or a 3.9 at 95% full chat.
