What a load of old bolleau. It is the result of a subtle and very
successful marketing exercise by the Flower Retail industry, nothing
    more complicated than that.

It would me great pleasure to piss on the flowers if I know they were
using a nicked vehicle when they died.

I didn't see any indicators on the mirrors.
No, it had a round can. Well, I assume it was round at one time, it
    was in a bad way.
It was attached to the side of the clocks by what looked like velcro.

Same problem here with the Zephyr.
It really feels as though it needs a 6th gear sometimes.

  8. Quite. But I liked watching the pretty numbers changing on my old GS400
    and GT380.

And some twats think digital gear indicators are new tech. Phaw.

It was a peculiarly Suzuki gimmick as I had one on my GS550.

  12. They existed on triumphs from the 1950s, OK you'd have to crane your
    neck a bit http://raskcycle.com/parts/kicker1.html

I'm still looking for 7th on the Gixer. If it had 7 gears I'd probably
    go looking for 8th.

Had one on my 1973 GT750, and one on my 1984 GSX750EFE. Can't remember
if my GT250A had one, but if it did then it most likely didn't work cos
the bike was typically crap. I never saw the point of either of the
750s having a gear position indicator.

    Verdigris scribbled:
There isn't a "set" way to mourn though. All kids are told is mourning
is a way of dealing with the death of loved ones. (well, I wasn't told
that there isn't a set way to mourn, that we all cope differently)
I can actually identify with that. When my dad died I didn't cry or
anything when he died or at the funeral.

A while later it occured to me "why? whats wrong with me?"[1] and "what
must the rest of the family think of me?".

A little while later I figured out both me and my mum had done our
mourning and coming to terms with his death (and the crying too) when
we were looking after him at home, seeing his spine crumble away and
the independance, any mobility and essence of him vanishing over 18
    months.

I suppose its (grief) not talked about because of fear of death and
anything associated with death, and they do it because of the worry
(due to ignorance/ineducation) others will think they're heartless
bastards unless they show outwards signs (of something).

If they've been through a grieving process before, then they're a bit
    odd :-S

[1] Just shut it, OK! :)

Me too. But, on other occassions (often on the motorway), I find I've
been going for miles in 5th.

I reckon it'd be fine with a 3 speed Sturmey Archer on the handlebars.

Aye, I've often said it only really needs one gear to pull away in and
one other for everything else. Three-speed would be a bit of an
    overkill, IMO.
