    Picking up my emails at home today and this one jumped out.

    "I am a designer and just came across your website. I love what your
    doing. I designing a barbers in covent garden london at the moment
    and was looking at perspects for the interior. I was thinking about
    free standing walls to seperate sections. Is there any think you culd
    recommend?"

    I have to deal with people like this.

  7. Depends on whether you need his business and/or how much he's got to spend,
    I suppose. If the answers are "not at all" and "not a lot" I suggest you
    recommend English lessons.

    The answer is this: Timewaster.

    No matter how desperate you are for the work, avoid this type of
    enquiry. People like this can waste incredible amounts of your time
    and money.

    She says that she's a "designer" but clearly, grammar & spelling
    aside, doesn't have a design or any knowledge of the materials she's
    thinking of using. I mean what type of qualified designer thinks
    "perspects" is a product.

    I will politely request a set of dimensioned drawings. That usually
    kills it.

    I'm sure, whatever the industry, UKRM has plenty of similar examples.

  19. I have to agree - that's wonderful. I did wonder if darsy had been
    involved in the design of the site or development of some of the
    terminology - just seemed to somehow point in his direction.
