Wonderful weather for Wiscombe today. Most enjoyable chatting to all the old gimmers who turned up to celebrate the 40th anniversary of all bike meetings there. Not so wonderful for one rider on the first ever run of their first ever hill climb. Allegedly it was another case of someone bragging that they would show these hill climbers on their shite singles a thing or two. A 'give it a go' chap on an R1. Looking at his time to the esses he would have done a respectable run if he had got to the top. Unfortunately the front went light coming out of sawbench and it wobbled and veered off up the start of the bank on the right. Must have touched the front brake with the inevitable consequences. Gear lever, brake lever , right footrest and well scrawped plastics. Not badly hurt fortunately. Walking wounded, but whisked away to hospital. wrist or collar bone we think. Weather sounds like it was a bit warmer with you than at it was at Knebworth. This is in a couple of weeks http://www.kophillclimb.org.uk/ I'm going to take a look as it's localish to me.
In communiqué Is it usually a public road? The regulations seem to suggest it is. No prospect of proper speed hill climbs then. Still worth a visit to see and hear some interesting machinery. Several NHCA riders have bikes that are old enough, but non of them are also road legal AFAIK. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest * 2 Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 Morini 350 "Forgotten Error" | +----------------------------------------------------------------+
