So GFR*2 has been rescued from deepest Finchley.

After a quick, fluids, chain (I so love the stick in the wheel single
sided swing arm method) and tyre pressures check, it being MoT'd, taxed
and insured courtesy of Auntie Carole (an extra 30 quid on top of the
other SOBs) I just took it for its first proper ride round on familiar
    roads.

Motor really crisp compared to the 40000 Kms example it will nestle up
close to in the garage for the first time tonight. Probably still on
standard gearing so power valve coming in at higher road speeds. Even so
it revs cleanly and sweetly towards the red (not all the way until I
make sure it is consuming decent oil). The after market clear screen
means you can really get your head out of the breeze which helps.

Handling as expected from a GFR. The Sportmax's must be getting a bit
long in the tooth so I didn't push it too hard though as they are a bit
    shiny round the edges.

Front brake a bit disappointing. TBF I have been spoilt by the Tart
which has phenomenal brakes and the Nordie's which are very good. I
haven't ridden the other GFR for year so it could be just the lack of
any engine braking, but the brake felt a bit 'wooden'. More grab needed
than I expected. Possibly glazed pads? Will pop the caliper off
tomorrow, check the piston movement and swap the pads to see if that
    helps.

Very nice nick overall, but not quite as original as I had hoped. Some
extra stickers have been applied and one or two OEM graphics are
missing. Bob Wright may be able to help and failing that I can rob the
other one to end up with everything, including the definitive petrol/oil
one next to the twin filler caps. Best way to remove them from the donor
so as to stand a chance applying them to the recipient?

Might take it to Cadwell on Wednesday if the brake can be improved,
particularly if I also then have time to fit the smaller gearbox
    sprocket.
