Sounds like he's having a bit of an emotional breakdown and taking team
issues public: he has publicly stated he is considering to decline to test
the 2006 bike -Honda only has offered Biaggi (surprisingly?) and him to ride
the bike today- until he gets "explanations" for what happened in the race.
He states something to the effect that "it's been too often this year that
something goes wrong with the bike"... odd, because I seem to recall him
falling off, and this being the first time the bike fails him in several
years. The even odder thing is that he seems to know what went wrong: he ran
out of gas, he says... This whole public posturing for sure is going to
affect his popularity within Honda - bad move by Gibernau.

Sete Bultaco [yes, the grandson] has mental issues, Biaggi went down
this exact road fighting against Vale, but these days Max has a stable
mind , banks the HRC cheques and is doing a Roberts and just
    going-out-for-a-sunday-ride.....

Be that as it may, Sete is prob. the 2nd best rider in the field atm,
and i would be happy to have him at Ducati for 06'

I do not think Max was out for a Sunday ride in the 2nd half
of the race. If his stupid ass could have been on the 2nd
row of the grid, he would've had a real chance of winning.

I also want to know what happened with Gibernau. BBC commentary
suggested the possibility that he ran out of fuel. That would certainly
explain him stopping right near the end of the race with no warning nor
other symptoms of the bike going wrong. Anyone know any details?

    Cheers,

He ran out of fuel due to an anomaly in the "electronic fuel control". The
failure of the system lead to increased consumption, hence his running out
of fuel. He's suddenly talking a lot about the problems the motorcycle has
had this year. The bike fails *once*, and he's talking up a storm to
rationalize all the other times he came up second (or worse).

The Honda test for the '06 bike fell through. Apparently neither Biaggi nor
Gibernau were too thrilled by the idea and preferred to work on the '05
bikes, Biaggi saying the '06 development was Ukawa's job. I seem to recall
former champions jumping at the chance of providing input for bike
development, I don't know. In any case, a convenient technical excuse was
founf as to why the '06 bike could not be ridden by Gibernau and Biaggi.

Gresini is looking for a sponsor to replace Movistar, and it seems Fortuna
will fit the bill. Fortuna can't be thrilled with their current team's
    results, that is for sure.

LOL! I thought maybe Rossi had secretly hidden his hair products. The
thought of appearing on the podium without a perfect coiffure was
praying on his mind during the race and became just too much.
