Ghost Rider (no spoilers)

  1. "Stone", "Sidecar Racers". Hmm, I might be arguing for the other side...
    "Little Fauss and Big Halsy".

  3. Ermmmmm... it's a documentary movie. It's still a movie.
Agreed. Oddly, it's hysterically funny in places. Imagine Little Shop Of
Horrors crossed with Christine, and a chorus of AF spanners.

We have this debate every couple of years or whenever Psychomania is on
late night television, whichever is the sooner.
Do scooters count? If so than I would suggest that Roman Holiday is not
entirely bad. And we must not forget No Limit.

Lousy story, but good riding and hot blonde chick.

Certainly better than he was in "Con-Air".

Much like Connery then. A Russian with a porridgewog accent was a bit hard
to swallow, but then I realised he *always* plays with a pw accent.

Seconded - and a nice shock ending to round it off.

  11. Something a lot of people seemed to overlook. [1] Still the best Bond
ever, imo, but that doesn't make him a great actor. Bond, as written by
Fleming, was a ruthless thug in a dinner jacket, which suited Connery
admirably - Craig fills the role well, but it remains to be seen what
    he'll do after that.

[1] As a counterexample, Robert Carlyle is astonishing in his roles. A
truly talented actor - in the many roles I've seen him in, I don't
recall him looking or sounding the same in any of them.

  13. If you're seeking affirmation from such tenuous material your ego is
in far worse shape than I originally thought.

    After consideration, this amuses me.

Now I'm off for some Hot Fuzz action.

"Negative - I just came back from the film and found it interesting.
Having read a number of Ghost Rider comics in younger days, I was
curious to see if the movie followed the comic books to any degree.
Having seen the movie, I would issue a strong caution on letting any
young people (teenager and below) from seeing this show. To me, though
I did enjoy the film, it would bring about a sense of confusion in
many minds. The Bible does state, repeatedly, that Satan is the root
of all evil, but in the movie, Satan cons a man into selling his soul
for basically a good cause. My concern is that a moral confusion would
ensure whereas many today do not have any sort of solid Biblical
teaching on Satan, evil, good or any other Biblical concept. There are
many younger adults and kids who can not think abstractly much less
Biblical, and would look at this film as encouraging demonic activity
    and interest."

I never rated him as Bond, but then again, I didn't rate any of the ones who
followed him either apart from Daniel Craig, for the reason you've stated.

but that doesn't make him a great actor. Bond, as written by
He wasn't brilliant in Layer Cae, but he was *different*. Connery just plays
Connery in a different set of clothes (IMO).
Absolutely brilliant. I've not seen a film or TV show that he wasn't superb
in. I can't remember the title of the film he played opposite Guy Pierce in,
but he was a cannibal and the film was excellent.

    A
    Precisely. He's class with a capital "C".

Whilst ignoring the 'most of the stuff NC punts out is shit'?

It's well worth it. I laughed - a lot. Which (given my general lack of
humour at the moment) is a good thing and damned hard to achieve.
