Not bad, in a "leave your brain at home" sort of way. Entertaining
hokum. Nicolas Cage shows his usual standard of acting ability.

I refer the honourable gentleman to "Captain Corelli's Mandogrim"

The last reasonable Nic Cage film I saw was 'Lord of War'

  3. What, being Nick Cage, you mean? Another Anthony Quinn, iyam; all he
ever did was play Zorba in his various incarnations.

I'm yet to see a motorcycling movie that isn't utter shit.

    Themed movies are normally naff.

It's like saying "Horse movies are rubbish" and "that tulip film
    didn't really get me going."

Oh no, not another "Nick Cage is shit" - "Oh no he isn't" thread. I'm
sure Champ will be along shortly[1].

[1] For 'when he gets back from the island' values of shortly.

Not strictly a motorcycle[1] movie but the cinematography in Electraglide
    in Blue was superb.

[1] More of a tractor movie, really.

A fictional movie perhaps. Hard to dismiss 'On any Sunday' as utter shit
IMO. Also 'The World's Fastest Indian' is worth watching. In fact I have
recommended it to a few non-motorcycling types who have all said they
thought it was an excellent film.

    I've always like Easy Rider.

Which probably goes some way to explain the Triumph in my garage.

I have to admit to quite enjoying the 'The Wild One'. Not a great film
but the 'banning' added a certain frisson.

    "What are you rebelling against?"
    "What have you got?"

I keep a 25th Anniversary boxed three DVD set of 'On Any Sunday' at the
chateau for the education of guests and tenants (along with TWFI).

The additional DVDs (not with 'OAS II') are about the making of the film
including some Barry Briggs speedway shots that never got used. Also
more good stuff on Malcolm Smith (ISDE, Desert Racing,Trials etc.).

I was disappointed that a recent biography of Steve McQueen on the box
didn't give it a mention, as it seems that without his financial backing
the film may not have been made.
