The Legislative Day for Bikers seems to've been quite a success.. Although, there haven't been actual numbers, guesstimates put the number at over 5,000 strong.. I'm being informed that there were about twice the number who showed up last session.. My day after getting home has been spent unpacking the Vulcan and prepping for the next trip.. That should be in about two weeks.. Reports are that our Capitol was virtually deserted today.. Some of the staff and people who work there, even expressed sentiments of missing all the excitement and sights of so many Bikers who spent the day there, Monday.. There've been no reports of mishaps of any kind, involving all our brothers and sisters on their return trips to their respective homes.. That is good news, not to hear.. This event and the numbers of Bikers who participated with such enthusiasm, has certainly sent a message to those who decide on the legislation to be enacted into law.. Turnouts like this represent a contingent of voters which can make the difference in any election in Texas.. That's impressive and certainly didn't go without notice by the State Representatives and Senators who work in our state Capitol.. This job will not be finished until the final vote is cast at the wind up of this legislative session.. Telephone calls, letters and e-mails, could make the difference.. Our chairman and District Advisors will be keeping us posted on what we need to do, to help.. Many thanks for all the support from this newsgroup and the many others who made this effort a success..
