    ISTR that someone in Shrewsbury a few years ago had a head on collision
    during their driving test

    It's perfectly possible to have an accident on your test and still
    pass. Providing it's not your fault in any way and you deal with it
    appropriately and your driving is the correct standard, you'll pass.

    I suspect this is very rare though.
