Getting a bargain

I've decided that if i do get the SV650S I want a datatool system 3
alarm/immobiliser fitted and a rear hugger (plain black is fine) for it.

In order to get a decent bundle deal I ned to know how much I could expect
    to pay separately.

After looking around it would seem that £300 is wat you'd expect to pay for
the alarm, this includes fitting. I'd be happy to hear if it available
    cheaper.

Huggers seem to come in around the £50 mark, although I don't know if there
is an official Suzuki hugger for the bike (anyone know?).

Not having had a hugger before can anyone say whether its a reasonable
    simple job to fit?

Hoping to see if they'll throw in the hugger for free if i pay full whack
for the alarm with the bike.

    Any tips?

    Thanks in advance.

Do not bother buying the OEM hugger - it will be the same as the others, but
    cost you 2x more.
If you're buying a _new_ bike, the chances are the dealer will fit it for
free. Colin Collins did this when I purchased my SV from them - fitted the
extender, hugger and scottoiler for £0.
Ask them - if you don't, you won't get.

I should add though, that at the time the price was higher then what you are
paying. If their margins are very tight
they may be less keen to do anything for free.

If they read this group, they'll probably charge you double :)

example. :) I've never had any problems.
Piece of piss. Takes about half an hour, assuming the bike is clean
and your bolts, etc, aren't already full of crud.
This is better. Get someone else to do it, if you can't be arsed.

    The inevitable uk.r.m. alternative:
    http://www.pyramid-plastics.co.uk/sv650_pagex.html

Elly and I both have Pyramid huggers and Elly has a screen on the CBR.
High quality, fit well, easy to fit.
The Pyramid one looks like it fits with giant zip ties onto the
swinging arm. The CBR one fits like this, and it took less than five
minutes to fit - and it hasn't fallen off yet ;-)

I'd go for the fender extender too - Suzuki mudguards are very short
and the front of the SV engine is very exposed. Four self-tappers to
fit it - stick it in place with the supplied double sided tape, drill
four 3mm holes and whizz the screws in. 10 minutes and job's a good
    'un. Well worth it, imo.

I've got a Harris carbon one on my GSXR. It's lovely but I suspect
Curium won' want to pay 130 quid for a hugger[1].

[1] Neither would I but it was already on the bike. Now I want the
    matching front mudguard.

With the potential business repairing the thing when he fucks it up?

They'll do anything to keep him, I'd have thought.

On the SV? No they didn't - they put it somewhere hard to get it.

On the GSXR, *I* asked for it to be put somewhere easy to get it, which it
    is.
May not look that great when you see it, but it isn't really that obvious.

I don't care TBH as you can't see it when you're moving anyway, even at the
    speeds I go.
