  1. dunno - I doubt I'd have a go without fully comp insurance...

Just ridden my mates Gixxer thou from Telford, not far but WOW! He's in
NI till the 10th so if we get any good weather between now and then -
well, it'd be rude not to wouldn't it.

First impressions are that it makes my ZX9 feel big and slow but I'm not
sure I could cope with the riding position for long - my back and
especially knees were glad when I got off - it's only about twelve miles
to his place but I seem to have done about thirty to get home, most
    peculiar that :)

I'll have another go in daylight but I am impressed so far.

the cunning would "sell" the bikes to one another probably only incurring a
documentation fee when the bikes were transferred between policies and back
again after the trip to NI

Just checked my insurance - third party on a bike thats not mine. Anyway
I'm sure he sorta expects me to try it out as we've swapped bikes loads
of times in the past and he did say that when it was run in I could have
a go. 1200 miles on the clock means it's run in by my reckoning.

It feels so light and small. I sat on a ZX10 at the show and convinced
myself that at my age and with my old broken bones the ZX9 was the right
bike for me, (I think of the ZX9 as a VFR's meaner big brother).
However, I may reconsider because this bike is such a big step up in
every way except size - I was grinning most of the way home apart from
on the bumpy B-road when I thought my fillings were going to come out,
it's a bloody firm ride - or perhaps I'm too heavy for the current
suspension settings. I'd need a hundred mile test ride to be sure about
    the riding position tho.

If this is your way of saying you fancy me just 'cos I've got long
blonde hair you can **** _right_ off, as I'm sure you realise.

Did fine for me on my 4000km trip through France, to the UK for EOSM,
back over to Paris, thence the Togtours do Villenueve w/e and back
home to Alsace last year. Very very nearly as comfortable for my 6'2"
frame as the Sprint ST it replaced, but a lot more fun :)

So do I, I've ridden to Swansea and back in a day, several times
without even feeling tired. The pegs could be a bit higher though and
this is why I want some rear sets.

This is cos you're a short-arse. If they were any higher, normal
    people like me would struggle.

Now try the ZX10R - made the Gixer seem like a touring bike (well
    almost!!)

Even better as it was a back to back test with the new R1, Blade and
Gixer!. Fair bit of weight on the wrists on the 10R compared to the
    others.

Did a favour for one of the mags in organising a closed road for a
