Bah! you don't understand. It's a piece of engineering genius, taking
something, perverting its purpose and making it useful.

Paul Spargo, the NHCA champion for several years, had a similar device
back in '79. That only carried one bike and therefore had more
    'facilities' though.

When I used to go to North Glos meetings with a mate a few years ago we
used a modded van very similar to this; there were a few of them in the
    paddock.

One van I did once see was something like a Transit but it had a
lowerable floor, as in lowerable to the ground. The sides bulged
slightly to accomodate the wheels, which had a wider track than
    normal.

I've no idea how the chassis worked: I can imagine it must have flexed
a bit as there was nothing directly between the rear wheels, unless
the floor locked to the sides in some way.

I'd love to turn up at a Caravan Club rally with a ratted caravan - in
camo and matt black, with shreds of camo netting hanging off it, big
knobbly tyres on it, windows painted out, that sort of thing.

Would a skull & crossbones painted on the side be going too far, d'you
    think?

  11. Doesn't matter - it's a way of getting bikes to events and having a
kipping space. Once an item enters the realm of 'useful kit' it ceases
its previous existence as 'shite' and the clock is re-set.

Teach a man to fish and he and his pikey mates will have the
river cleaned out in a day.

I'm still going to put several grains of lead through the back of you head
for blocking the single track road I'm trying to hoon down.

  14. You would have to have "It's not a caravan - it's a bike transporter"
signwritten on the back or face the quinciequonces.

  16. I'd just pull the QD disposal lever and leave you in an untidy heap of
    caravan and ****.

  17. Funnily enough, I've got next week off work, so the "dog kennel" will be
rolling along the merry highways and byways of our fair land . . . . causing
    mayhem and havoc ;-)
I've been refused entry to some caravan / camp sites because the "dog
kennel" isn't a recognised make of caravan. Come to think of it, the
vehicle towing it ain't a recognised make either. Anyroad, if they don't
want me there, there are plenty of other places that will happily accept my
    money.
Matt black don't work - unless you like solar heating.
I've gone for "tiger coloured curtains" rather than painting me windows out.
Windows are so useful when towing - you can spend hours watching the
following driver's expression turn from boredom to anger as the poor sod
    crawls along behind you ;-)
