    Hi,

Bandit 1200S (2nd gen) with speedo pickup off front sprocket (electronic).

My speedo seems to be reading approx 10% fast at any speed and is also
heavily over geared in standard form (ie max speed reached in 3rd).

Do I need to higher or lower the gearing to correct the enthusiastic speedo?

Also higher gearing = bigger front sprocket or smaller rear
lower gearing = smaller front sprocket or bigger
    rear.............doesn't it?

    Cheers,

    Mark

AFAIK you need to make the front cog bigger [1]

[1] or the back cog smaller

Or get the standard sprocket sizes from a local bike shop.

WTF? How big is that rear sprocket, ffs? Flat stick in third and it
won't go any faster? How fast are you going at that point - and at
    what rpm?
Neither, numbnuts - it depends on the revolutions of the /front/ wheel
and that isn't affected by the gearing ... now is it? I fear you'll
just have to live with that - many bike speedos are enthusiastic.

Standard gearing 15 front 45 rear at redline 11000 revs this is 135mph
    (GPS measured)
Front wheel has nothing to do with it. The second gen models take a
    signal from the front sprocket.
