Gatsos, what is all this about then?

Don't know about you, but the introduction of front cameras is
going to make ****-all difference to motorcyclists because we
don't have front number plates, and we all wear illegal black
visors whatever the weather and thus they still won't be able
    to identify us^H^H them.

So I'd have personally gone with option (a) myself!

You miss my point Antony. The rear facing Gatso takes a picture of your
numberplate and the front facing one takes a picture of your face (or dark
visor) for identification purposes. My point is they could have saved some
cash and just installed front facing Truevelo cameras but then bikers would
get away with it and Essex Scammers wouldn't allow that.

C'mon folks, tell me, seriously: when so many people hate the damn things
    why are they not vandalised?
Says a lot about good ol' blighty.

  6. Many, many of them are. Some in Nottingham are completely painted over
    and have smileys on them.
I see loads pointing in to fields, or having had the Soweto necklace
treatment. Trouble is, the powersthatbe keep replacing them.
A bloke in Bedford got fined £3k for driving his Landrover in to one,
and had to pay for a new camera.

Some places are getting beyond a joke. The A5 near the M6 junction at
Gailey corner has so many you can see from one to the other. Somewhere
in Lancashire ( I can't remember the road number) has six or seven in
    5 miles.

  7. The French have automatic speed cameras, and they are not even on top
of poles, they are at ground level. They are not regularly vandalised.

The Spanish get fined for putting a wheel on a solid white line.
Spanish Traffic Cops (GC Traficos) are complete bastados, especially
    the ones on bikes.

I dunno about the merkins, nor do I care.
