I've just picked one up and I'm going to fit it to the XL500 for the
trip back to Belge next week. Looking at the fiddly little security
screw, what sort of security are we talking about? Is it anti-theft or
    anti-fall-off-due-to-big-single-vibration?

In other words, do I need to bother for a single trip where it's
    unlikely to leave my sight?

I would use it. If the mount flips open, say goodbye to your expensive
    new toy.

Send me a snail mail address and I'll add you to the list for a modified
screw (I should be making a batch this weekend).

Any chance of WUN over here? Got one from Cloggyland for a friend and he
lost it before it even met the Zumo! ;o)

Don't know your email though I'm afraid, sorry, unless the one attached is
    valid.

Donations to the WUN fund are available.

    General announcement:

There has been a slight tooling failure[1] in the WUN workshop, and I
have decided on a minor upgrade to make volume production easier.

There will be a two week delay on deliveries.

Those who know me will currently be unsurprised.

Dodger, this will also delay your stuff, because I'm planning to include
the Zumo screws in the same envelope. Let me know if that presents a
    problem.

[1] Sorry luv, this doesn't normally happen...

It isn't. I needed to do something about this anyway, and it's a *tool*
    dammit. :^)

Seriously, it's something I would have bought at some point, regardless.

Why don't you just ask me and I'll give you a 1/2" square shank tipped
tool and a couple of boxes of tips.

Considering WUNs size, I suspect it'd take more than a 1/2" tool to
    satisfy him.

Haven't you got a traveling steady? they're the best way to turn small
diameters and if you turn your own pads for them you can go down to
any diameter you like and you don't have to hit the finished size
first time as you would with the tool you're buying.
