    Yeah, though the problem is getting stainless bolts that have got the
    flanged heads on them, or special oversized heads etc, plus there are
    axles and the like that I want to recoat.

    That's a valid concern and why the really REALLY anal retentive
    restorers send every nut bolt and screw off to be replated with the
    appropriate plating. I am so glad I'm not that picky.

    Nope , but you might look up one of the home electroplating kits online . I
    know they exist , but that's about it .
    Also , with electroplating sometimes reversing the electrical polarity
    will also reverse the process and strip the item .

    SPS is a major supplier of _all_ kinds of fasteners. They ain't cheap,
    but you might con one of their retailers into giving you a sample.
