This morning I got round to dropping the rear wheel out of the
"Forgotten Error" and removing other odds and ends. A photo session and
ebay fest is about to commence.

To remove the swingarm from the frame or not is the question. Personally
I would be happier buying a frame/swing arm ready assembled that were
'matched' IYSWIM, but they might fetch more apart. Easier to parcel up a
swingarm than a frame though. I've popped it in the shed for the moment
while I deal with the rest. I now have a chance of shuffling stuff round
to make room for the roll cab and all the push bikes accumulated by
SWMBO and the lad. Three for her (old ladies bike, MTB and I must admit
very tasty super light Specialised hybrid thing with lots of gears
(narrow road tyres) but raised handlebars. Four for him, Kona downhill,
Boardman XC and a cheap BMX, plus the pikey Decathlon racer that will
live in the greenhouse until he decides whether to keep it or not.

Ivan was asking about the tally for Morini parts. Here it goes so far:

    Tank £25
    Forks £40
    Side Panels £53
Very grotty Cast Front Wheel £10
    Footrests £23
    Fork Top nuts (special) £26
    Brake lever £4
    Fuse Box £9
    Front Mudguard £10
    Seat Knobs £6.50
    Instruments mounting £10
    Odds and sods another £10
    Carb £8

So £235 ish and I'm keeping the motor.

Still got the frame, swingarm, rear wheel and cush drive, rear shocks,
rear brake arm, engine plates and other bits to list. Plus possibly the
front wheel with Dunlop club race tyre - but that could go in the 2C if
    necessary.

I won't be far off what I paid for it without flogging the motor or a
fair few other bits that can act as spares for the 2C/375.

Got to drop the motor out of the YZ250 next, but I have the cash to get
it rebuilt now. Once that is done I may look out for another lost cause
Morini or Gilera to break. An RC600 that sounded like it only needed a
bit of TLC to the ignition or a carb clean just went for £500 on Ebay. I
know that just the starter motor could fetch £100.

Could keep an old gimmer in Aprilia accessories pin money.

Not sure. It rattles like a bag of nails at tickover. A stroker expert
at Curborough in July reckoned it was on borrowed time. I'm hoping it's
just piston slap as it is smooth enough when revving hard.

I'm going to take the opportunity to have the Boyesen reeds I have
waiting put in and possibly a bit of moderate tweaking as suggested
    here:

I'll probably get John at Revs to do it, but I might strip the top end
and clutch down while still in the frame to confirm my suspicions, check
for play in the big end and make it lighter to lift out.

With a two-stroke, rattles are *never* "just piston slap"....

Could be worse, so long as all the gearbox innards are OK. At least they
seem to function well enough now.
Ta. BTW any New Years Eve/Day musical and/or Morris merriment planned
    down your way?
