After years of wearing Belstaffs (I had two sizes one 'solo' and one for
over my leathers) I bought a Bering cordura jacket. Damp and soggy is no
    longer in my vocabulary.

It rocks mightily, to coin a phrase.

Just remember that those white lines that are slippery in the wet in
the day are slippery in the night too only you cant see where the
****ers are. Usually they lurk just where you are filtering so take it
easy on the front stopper. If the traffic is doing 0 and you are doing
15mph you are still going 15mph faster than they are and as they have
the windows wound up they can't hear you sniggering at them.

HG Pathans are a bloody good idea as are decent boots and heated
grips. WD40 helps stop your pride and joy rusting up.

If you are just comfy warm when you set off you will get cold. You
want to be a bit too hot when you set off then you will be about
    right.

It only takes a bit of discomfort to be an RTB.

Pan Euro & slightly damp VFR 750 used all year round (except ice
    n'snow obviously)

Wot. They breed 'em tough in this neck of the woods. This is the county of
birth of the likes of Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson, Boudica Warrior Queen of
the Iceni, Stephen Fry, err ... another queen.
Wuss ... bet you come from Suffolk.

If anyone was to ask my advice (which is unlikely) about getting into biking
I would advise them to knock at least £500 of their budget and put that
aside for decent clothing. In my ineptness I broke the bank buying the bike
and learning to ride it, ending up buying cheapo clothing which performed
somewhat inadequately. As a result I bought some more which I thought was
better (but still cheap). I've spent as much on a wardrobe of crap kit as I
would have spent on one decent set of clothing which would no doubt last a
damn site longer as well. Well, experience I suppose.

I defy either of you to find anything that comes close to them, in
performance terms, for roughly the same price[1]. They rate in my book
as the best value piece of kit I've ever owned.

About two years ago I came across a pair of Belstaff gloves of the same
type as the lobsters. The only difference I could see was that the
Belstaff glugs had a drawstring affair for cutting of the circulation at
the wrists. Didn't buy a pair though as I already had the lobsters.

My end of line visually breathtaking in all the wrong ways Alpinestar
boots what I bought for bugger all really in the sales.

    The lobsters come second.

    The Voyager jacket third.

Now I'm a touch confused. I was on the look out for a pair of winter
gloves. I had the HG Pathans in mind.
