The lovely usb mugwarmer I bought in Matalan[1] for a fiver Just picked one up today. £1.50, I think - the ditsy, brainless sales bimbos were not quite clear about it (It took at least 15 minutes to pay and get a receipt, all while both bimbos giggled about how bad the till was and how useless they were). They were not sure about the amount it would cost (started at £3.00, became -£1.50 and ended up at £1.50) and after at least 15 minutes waiting I was not of a mind to argue about the lower price. There was no printed receipt as they ran out of till rolls (in the whole store). I had to get a handwritten receipt, and will check my account in a day or so to make sure I wasn't charged £15 (or £150). Now I recall why i normally avoid Matalan! But at least my coffee is still warm.
