Howdy folks, was just wondering if anyone might know if this is
possible? I'm hoping it's not too difficult.

I am interested in transferring the front end (necessary brackets, and
big round headlight) from a naked Yamaha Zeal (FZX250) onto one of the
bikini-faired models...I like the naked headlight look, better than what
I currently have. (it looks like a fly's head on the front of the bike).

Also, I'm curious to know if I can adjust the cam chain/cam chain
tension on this little beastie...I had the valve clearances checked a
few months back, and the mechanic said the cam chain was really loose
(was making a bit of a knocking/rattling noise) so he tightened it up.

3 months down the track, and it's started rattling again, same noise as
before. Is it easy to adjust the cam chain or its tension without taking
    off the rocker cover?

I would go back and ask mechanic to check it - it should not loosen
every few mths. Maybe once a yr.

Some engines are a simple adjustment, some arent.

The front end conversion can be tricky without all the bits and pieces,
so maybe get a complete front end from a naked bike to swap over,
otherwise it'd be a real PITA looking for all the bits seperately.

Also I would have thought the Zeal would have an automatic tensioner,
as it's watercooled and high tech...
Maybe have a search for a service manual, but if it was anything like
my old SR250, it's very easy, just remove a plastic cover, and undo the
locknut, and turn the inner nut outwards while the engine is running.
There was a pin inside the inner nut, which moved with the chain, and
the idea was to remove most of the slack, until that pin just moved a
little bit. The SR needed that every 6 months, and would get vocal
without a camchain tweak. Hope this helps.
