Does anyone know if the FZS600 fuel pump is the same as the FZR600?
My bike would turn over, but never catch. Mr Haynes tells me how to check
it out, by putting the pump directly to the battery. When i try this there
is no noise whatsover. I gather the FZRs pump is a diaphragm suction, not a
rotary pump, hence the clicking noise when switching on the electrics.
waiting to here from several breakers, but no luck on getting the real thing
yet, which is why i wondered about the FZS, which is available.
which leads me onto my next question: can i put fuel directly into the carb
with a syringe, in order to prove the lack of fuel to the bike is what is
    stopping it start (?)

    any help would be great.

    I haven't got a fucking clue.

You might consider a spray from can of Easy Start over your air filter
rather than syringefulls of petrol more or less straight into the upper
    cylinder.

  3. Of course. Just rig up a bottle or something, above the carbs, and
connect it to the petrol feed line that normall runs to the pump.
    Gravity does the rest.

see if they do the parts.

    Quite a useful site IMHO.

Thanks very much, i thought it might have been a fairly stupid idea, But, if
someone i have never met before and whome i cant verify as a sane human
being agrees with me through an anonimous format, then who the hell am I not
    to give it a go??

Promise I'll be careful. Thanks for your help

You are right, what a great site. if only for the microfiche drawings. Are
there anymore sites out there with these drawings?
As for the fuel pump, it was $225, so i will continue my search for a second
hand job. thanks again for the steer

  8. It'a a fairly normal thing to do - the bottle of petrol, that is, not
the trusting of a total stranger who might just be having a laugh and
hiding in the bushes watching as you set fire to your garage.
