  1. Why is this so cheap?

I have for auction an exceptional example of a 1987 model FZR1000
Yamaha road bike rego #VST28. It has been extremely well maintained
and riden on a daily basis and has never missed a beat.

A major service was completed two weeks ago as well as having new rear
    brake pads fitted.

The tyres, chain and sprocket are in good condition and as a bonus I
will include the gear sack, rack and backrest as seen in the photos.
It has plenty of rego (7/5/2004) and has travelled 82,000kms.

The fairing has some minor scratching, but nothing that detracts too
much from the appearance. The only other blemish is a chip under the
    left hand headlamp.

I have owned this bike for 18 months and it has given me exceptionally
    good service.

If you wish to view this bike or have any questions, please do not
hesitate to direct your enquiries to the following email address:
I will be more that happy to answer any
queries as promptly and honestly as possible.

This is a genuine sale and this bike is located on the Southern
Highlands of NSW. I will accept the following forms of payment: Bank
    cheque, cash or direct deposit.

Sorry, no personal cheques. Good luck and thanks for looking.

Perhaps the seller believes in the old auction philosophy, that there will
be enough bids to take the price to an acceptable level.
Says he who listed a 20gig hard drive at $45 that ended up selling for
$76!!!!!!! (Grin from ear to ear!)

Would you have the figures for a 1990 Honda CBR1000F, 75,000km - mine goes
    into Sydney
Trading Post this week at $3,500? SWMBO says it has to go, I don't ride often
    enough.

True, I didn't ride at all from mid-Dec to mid-March. Too bloody hot in
Western Sydney to ride over summer. I'm in overheat mode before I've even
hopped on the bike after putting on Draggin' Jeans, leather jacket, boots,
glovces and helmet. But my son reckons I complain of the heat as soon as it's
above 1 deg C. Just because I wear shorts all year round and only put a shirt
and shoes on when going out.

If anyone's interested, I'll put pix and info up on my website - lots of
closeups so you can see the bike reasonably well from afar.

    Km
    73500 new battery
    72900 new drive chain,
    71000 Fit Magnecor igntion leads
    70000 Air Filter 17211-MS2-000, 4 x DPR8EA9 Spark Plugs, Timing Chain,
    Timing Chain Tensioner
67900 rear tyre Michelin Macadam 170/60R17
68000 replaced front tyre Bridgestone, wheel bearing and seals.
65349 replaced rear wheel bearings and seals
    Cruise Control
    Ventura Headlight Protector
    Gearsack rack

  8. So why is a 16 year old XJ900 or a 16 year old GPZ900r in similar condition
    to that FZR1000 then? [1]

At that age condition is more important than original price...

    Geoff and Jodie

    [1] Besides... a GPz900R is a classic :)
