    Heh.

My outfit is currently lacking a mounting point. The front one was
reworked the weekend before last. The rear one was being reworked this
weekend but I ran out of light on Sunday.

The front mount now attaches to an engine mount rather than to a hole in
the frame... the frame damage has been welded up.

The rear mount was the one with the really manky welding; I ended up
snapping it... I've got a new mounting bit fabricated which used some
1/2" water pipe or similar welded onto the existing mount and in turn
welded to some 16mm studding which will bolt into the centre stand
mounts; the result of about five to six hours of cursing, angle
grinding, bar bending and just a little arc welding. Currently being
sprayed in a fetching shade of hammerite black.

I'm pretty certain that these mounts are now good and strong (or will be
after another weekend of fucking around).

I've serviced the lump, replaced points, coils and plugs and it starts
    really easily now.

Next steps are to complete the mounting of the sidecar (as above) and to
fit a screen, heated grips and bar muffs to it.

I've also got this, which is truly hideous, but will be very warm

Of course... the sidecar's got mountings for a radio so it's only a
matter of time until I fit one; I think I can reach it from the riding
    position.

    Oh... I don't know.

I think that chair would fit the z500 *and* it's got a decent tyre.

You know that electricity can be used to provide illumination, if you
haven't blown all the fuses in your house with the arc welder?
Yeehah! Ride 'em, cowboy! ****, that's gay.
If you don't have an appropriate radio in your collection, there's one I can
liberate from the shed. Then you can practice getting up the nerve to take
a hand off the bars. Or you could scare up a unit with a remote control
    widget.

BTW Fr Jack reckons that the old 3.50-18 tyre I passed to him a couple of
years ago is still lying about the place, so I'll be picking that up on
Wednesday. I think it might fit your rear wheel.

Well, yes, but after a few hours I'd had enough.
You're only jealous. Anyway policemen use them, and builders. I think
that native americans use them also.
I've got a unit somewhere that I'm tempted to attach. I've also got
speakers but am not sure where they should be mounted at the moment.
It's an 18 incher (ooh-er) so possibly. Thank you.

I think I've still got a couple of very good Avon SM 18 inchers in the shed
from my old outfit. If I find them at the weekend they're yours. Collect
    from Melksham.
    Cheers,

Well, if they're the Avon sidecar ones, yes please!

I'll have a look tonight and let you know. I know I've got one looose tyre
and I think the other is still on a spare Guzzi wheel. Note that these are
    _tubed_ type.
I'm away at a rally this weekend but I can leave them outside the house for
    you to grab if required.

Sorry mate but I can't find them at all *anywhere*. They must have been
chucked out earlier this year when the shed was 'tidied up'. Bit of a
bastard too as I can't find my spare Guzzi front wheel either, which was
shod with one of the Avons.. Arse.

Does that mean you're looking for speakers now?

There's a pair of Sony speakers included. That being said, there are
outputs for a 4-speaker setup, so there's the potential for more. I'll have
to conduct a site survey to determine what else can be balanced on top of
the pre-existing heaps of teen detritus.
