I suspect I do, too, but I thought it better to point out that the
sentence structure doesn't make the meaning clear than to let my
    assumptions do the answering.
Are you familiar with the following quote:

"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for
authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of
exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their
households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They
contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at
the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers."

It's something Plato attributed to Socrates.

What do you think is more likely; that you're really witnessing some
kind of watershed collapse of moral fibre in society, or that it's
simply your turn to get old and complain about the kids of today all
    being impolite slackarses?
Flippancy aside, mate, a 2005-model highschool kid could do a hell of a
lot worse than have someone like Smee standing out the front of the
classroom, and I dare say you know it, too.

The blokes in the Solomons and in Timor now have gone through the sort
of schooling Smee doles out, and yet they're not doing so badly over
    there, are they?

(goes off and wonders if this is just the non-irate Ron, or this
imposter that's got him so riled up)

Yes, mate, I have heard that. I've also heard that todays kids will be
users (of our inventions and work) and their kids will be builders and
    inventers.
Sorry IK, he IS an idiot, hot tempered and NOT School Teacher material.
He was once a friend until he started on politics, among other rubbish.
He also delights in using my nic and e-mail to pots crap.
Smee is the arsehole who made this mess that, I blamed on Knobdoodle.
Mind you Knob is not completely innocent here. He 'rides' me far more
than I, him, for this very thread, and other reasons only known to him,
    which started years ago..

I'm just sorry that nicer people have been involved.

FWIW, I have owned and ridden a few M/C's over the years. Learnt to ride
a bike on a 1940's IMME. Strange MC, half forks front and rear,
suspension was a spring under the seat that twisted at the back of the
motor, or half of the chassis.

My favourite was a 1965 Honda 400 four. Loved that little bike, rode it
for quite a few years. In Townsville in the late 80's, whilst still in
the Army, I spent two years repairing, painting and detailing motor
cycles as a hobby. Some of major dealers there used to give me their
'basket cases' to pretty up, every thing from RM250's to K100RT.
I enjoyed it and took a lot of before and after photos :)

Who gives a ****, I for one am glad that the Catering Corps was there for
when we needed them, **** that cooking in little tins, besides, you were
told that if you light a fire, it would be the last one you lit,
Nah, thank christ for the Catering Corps,,...in fact, thank christ for all
the others who were working in the background, without them, a lot would not
    be here today

    Oh goody :)

The bleeding heart story and YES you fucking have impersonated me in the
    past as has your mate.

Why should I expect things to change.

As for slandering your profession, the profession is fine, it's the
individual that is the problem. Go look in the mirror..

I bought a new 350-4 in 1973 IIRC and the 400-4 came out after that so I
guess you meant 1975. The 350-4 had 4 separate pipes and the 400-4 had 4
into 1. Mine had a top speed of only 105 mph, not even fast enough to
mess up you hair :) After having drum brakes, the single front disc was
awesome. I came to my senses in early 1986 and bought an Italian bike
with twin front and single rear Brembos. Don't know what I'm going to buy
it for it's 20th birthday, maybe a new gearsack bag.

<wades in, bends the Greek bloke over one knee, the old bloke over the
other, and smacks both their arses raw with an olive branch>

Ron, if Smee says he didn't impersonate you online, I believe him. It's
    not his style.

Smee, I'd be more worried about Ron's mental state if he_didn't_play rough.

....or am I going to have to break out the peace pipe?
