We've got a getz too.. TB '98 TL1000R
We're happy to chuck someone in the back of our car to get to the church. It is a getz btw and we have no idea what's happening afterwards. We're catching the 10:20pm flight back if someone wants a lift to the airport. TB
If you're looking for online driving directions on whereis.com or in the rent-a-car street directory try St Peter's Church, Albert St, Youngtown. Also if you're staying at the Treasure Island Caravan Park and looking for directions to get there try Glen Dou Road, Launceston South. The whereis.com database seems to have a typo in the street name. Nev.. '04 CBR1100XX
Good one mate, the main thing is that he's there. Good man, you've got your head together surprisingly well in the circumstances, keep your desire to rip his head off in check and you'll be the winner in the long run. JL
Dale, I dont know you or Cat, but Mate, thats better than GOOD news for Young William, and yourself... Hope the rest of that battle goes to plan. All the best for the weather on the day, and to all attending. As said, everyone should keep their heads even though it maybe harder than you expect. hope hes not the kind of prick to try and start the crap. Please be safe everyone... Take care. Bird. PS. Why the media with cameras?
For one newspaper down there (The Mercury) it appears it is. They are currently running a road safety campaign, and are looking for things to keep it on the front few pages. Given that Cat's accident was the first fatality in Tasmania this year, and it's tragic circumstances, as well as the fact Cat was already down here for her grandfather's funeral,.......let's just say they have deemed it all very news-worthy. I don't mind the cameras keeping their distance and taking pics of the funeral and/or procession.
What a day, I feel totally wrung out. Needless to say, a lot of CSCs were consumed last night. Was good to catch up with so many people I hadn't seen for a while, and some I hadn't met IRL before. Pity it was under such fucked circumstances. And, yes, I'm still heading overseas. At the moment I am carless, bikeless, homeless and jobless, having divested myself of nearly everything I own. Now I just got to tie up some loose ends and get the hell out of here. I'll be stopping off in Melbourne for a few days on the way out, so might try and catch a few of you again under happier circumstances. Cheers Kevin Gleeson
This was about 2/3 of page 3 of today's Mercury. Text is in the 3rd link below. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/kevgl/cat.jpg And here's a shot off my shitty loan phone of the Mercury guy taking the above photo. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/kevgl/cid_000b01c6214dff59a020f200a8c0msh.jpg http://www.themercury.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5936,17930930%5E3462,00.html Kevin Gleeson
yea appears to be all positive. Hope Dale and William (did he get there?) are doing ok.. Hope everyone else makes it home safe.
William was there and placed some mementos on the coffin. (As did Dale, Tim and some of Cat's family). Will made it through a very testing day and seemed pretty cool when I last saw him about 4pm [as he was being piggy-backed around the back yard by gNat]. Dale was rock-solid and both he and Cat's folks were very welcoming and generous toward we interlopers. (Cat's folks looked after us with a barbie on Monday night [or was that Jodie's?] and a very lavish feast after the funeral). Of course it was a very sad time but there was plenty of laughter as we remembered Cat and recounted her exploits. (How could you not smile when you think of her?) Tim was beset by additional tragedy but remained amazingly stoic. It was great to see some people I hadn't seen for a long time (and it was especially great to get a round of such warm hugs from all the hornbag sheilas when I left!) but I don't want to do it again. Ever.
Thansk Clem. Happy the day was good. I didnt know Cat, but from what everyone has said, she was special. Take care Mr. Buy ya a brew at the supers if I get there.
That's an understatement. I would have been a total mess (and have been close to that over the last week). Dale: it's OK to let go, man. You have been through so much shit. Indeed. I've tried to explain that to the crowd I now hang with. But the first comment back from Kerry (my ex) was that she remembered Cat's grin. Fucking hell yeah. Amen man. Good to see you again but hope we can do it under much more favourable conditions. Kevin Gleeson
It was wonderful to see everyone again. I wish it hadn't been under such circumstances, but I was pleased that we all managed to have a laugh and enjoy each others company as Cat would have wanted. I hope to see everyone again soon. Cheers Sarah
Dale has handled things magnificently... I don't believe I would be anything close to as together as he has been. The whole situation is heart breaking... but at least Dale and Wills still have each other. And Clem... as you said... it was great to see everyone there... but never again is soon enough for me too. I feel... gutted. G-S
