Remember that bloke who finished in the top 10 of the last Iron Butt
Rally on a GPX250? Here's what he's getting done to increase the
capacity of his fuel tank from 18 to 37 litres:

I reckon it looks bloody horrible, but each to their own...

  5. I'd love to see it fitted. Certainly would be unique.

I've already got a spare tank, but I won't be subjecting it to that
    sort of abuse! ;-)

dont you hate it when you get poor distance from a tank of fuel
that you have to resort to these sort of things

18 litres on a GPX goes a long long way.. this bloke must be planning some
pretty long rides in the middle of the night where petrol stations with the
lights on are more than 700km apart.

Disgusting, innit! My ZZR got 340Km to reserve, city cycle,
last week. (Won't do that well next week tho. It's run in
now, I been getting up it now!)

180km on a reasonable run. Why do they build a bike comfortable enough
to ride all day, then give it a 16 litre tank?

  19. It was for an Ironbutt bike, the simplest way to maximise the distance you
    travel is to keep riding.

Look up the Ironbutt Riders Association in the US
