Fun and motorcycle efficiency

  1. Ace and Champs bikes weigh less than mine. No wonder I find mine heavy
to lug around (in neutral). In fact, my mate got on it after her
sparkly new divvy, and couldn't believe how much the littler bike
    weighed.

I feel much less wimpy now.

Working on a whole series are we? Neat Idea.

I can help with the production side if you are thinking of going to
    video.

Which is why I think you ought to have ago on one. AAMOI Champ's
weighs a little bit more than mine, and I got the figure wrong - it's
    168 for mine.
    Heh.

I've ridden a wide range of different power/weight machines and have a
fair idea of what a sharp handling powerful bike is like to ride, first
hand experience aside I reckon my original statement stands.

high BHP + high torque + low Weight = more likely to lose back end =
    sphincter contraction.
So you agree that a lower power machine will be less likely to lose
traction then and subsequently scare the crap out of the rider?

Err, you what? The gixxer give something like 125 mile to fuel warning
light, with another 25 or so in reserve.

And it's just a _tiny_ bit quicket than any supermoto you could care
    to mention...

Very true, spent many evenings hurtling around on a pizza hut moped in my early days. Great for learning how to crash.

Well you are not subtle about it at all are you.

I never bother to read the stuff you do professionally you know. I
reckon I have seen it six months before in here so I know all about it.

Well, Champ and AlanG seem to have been a bit quiet on the gixxer
front, so someone has to keep it up.

So can we get all the SOB owner riders, here, featured in an article?

    With pictures of course.

Not a hope in hell. You might get a few of them to gather in a fairly
open sort of place for a short time but the smell soon becomes dangerous
to mammalian life and even farmers complain.

You could regret you ever typed that.

    Others before you already have.

  12. Yes, but Daz didn't say a CBR400, *did you* YTC? He said a 250 stroker,
and that's what I estimated for.

I wouldn't argue with the CBR figures.

Heh. To be fair, you were on a race track, so it's pretty much
expected that you'll lob it at some point. And I thought it was the
front that lost it anyway? You never suggested that you might have
spun up the rear, did you?

Well as I mentioned last time if we're using the "No one ever lost the front
on the power" it doesn't leave a lot of options as I was definitely on the
    power [1]

Anyway, I like waving. It makes me feel friendly.

Similar in that I think they are eminently impractical for day to day use
and who the hell needs a 170+mph bike on British roads?

Personally I also find the riding position as uncomfortable as ****.

So, as I say *similar* thoughts.

As for the CR - yup as impractical as a 170mph sportsbike.....
