Wahay! I didn't! So that's it - for a brief moment in my life, I've
    owned 1000bhp worth of vehicles.

    Hmm.

    164 [1] + 55 [2] + 180 = 399. Weak.

  4. I'm not doing too well on the bike front, but our family has a good
    selection of gas-guzzling planet-killing 4x4s.

There are 5 here (counting the Sierra, which is long-term unemployed...
hmmm... wonder if I can get a government grant to get it back to work?) and
    BiL has one, too.

Not sure what the combined power would be... lessee, somewhere near 700 bhp
    nominal.

Do you want to put your number plate on my 10R and have it dynoed so
you can get the required increase? There'd only be the two of us that
knew the truth and I'd never let on about it.

  8. Pleasingly, at work I have a female friend of 24 who is now regularly
using the word "****". This is particularly gratifying since that
demographic generally finds the word horrific. And also gratifying
    because she's got great tits.

V seems to be getting in the habit of using it too. Specifically when
describing Ben from the current series of The Apprentice.

I find the word **** being used by women far more gratifying when it's
a really posh burd saying it.

  13. upthread a bit, it was pointed out that breeding additional people to fill
up an already over-crowded planet rather screws the arguments of the
tofu-eating vegans who knit their own bicycle (made, of course, from
naturally shed wool gathered from the hedgerows and left there by happy
free-roaming ovines) who fart pure oxygen (unlikely, IME of vegans, who live
    mostly on beans)...

'tis a fact that one of the biggest problems on the planet is too many
people. Although I suppose we shouldn't use that as an excuse to **** it up
    more than we already have.

    The message <gscckf$c48$>
Hmmm. You should complain - all I can muster (in working order) is a
Nonda 250RS and a 1·5 kva sidevalve petrol generator...

Now if I got the Pungent 405 Diseasel Estate, the S2A Lard Roller with
the 3 litre Essex Engine and the B-EM R80 roadworthy, the figure might
    look respectable...

Due to a recent shortage of round tuits I finally got around to starting
the fettle and drained the oil. Lots of little sparkly bits in the oil.
    This is not looking good.

Got it open, so far it seems that the brokenoff bit of spring had
clattered around knocking tiny slivers off the inside of the case
but no serious damage to the gearbox. Next I need to open the clutch
cover on the other side to see whats happened in there, they share
the same oil with a fair sized passage between.

This is going to need very close examination of every part and carefull
cleaning. Crossing fingers and holding onto a hunk of wood might help.
