    Semantic analysis overload warning.

I beg to differ. I refer you to my answer to Ogden. I meant 'more
advanced' motorcycle technology existing in the 20's. Hence my
submission of the four-in-line cylinder engine, shaft drive 'Nimbus'.

filtering like a cuntish madman, it's possible.
    wouldn't know.

    I used to semi-regularly do Windsor -> A4 -> Euston Road -> British
    Library.

My best time for that was around 25 minutes.

but that's irrelevant, given that we were originally discussing old
    brit bikes -v- modern stuff.

But if I had to come up with an example of similar technology that was
better than 1920s brit motorcycles, well - Harley Davidsons? ;-)

OK, but such discussion is ultimately irrelevant anyway, given Bear and
most of UKRM's motorcycle functional requirements analysis. TBF, I
suspect he is more accurately asserting that 'classic' brit bikes were
shit in comparison with contemporary Jap bikes (at least from say the
    60's).

Heh. More fit for purpose in the target market perhaps.

The upside is they are dead simple to work on and it can be done in just a
    few hours.[1]

Ive just spent most of the day replacing a headlamp bulb on my daughters
car, you have to take the front bumper off to get at the F**KING bulb.

[1] if it’s a late D14 it won’t have the single crankcase bolt through the
right c,case half, so you can leave the clutch and crank in the RH half and
    just remove the LH casing.

Srsly? That makes it sound a lot more attractive than the train, given
that there's underground bike parking available. Best route?

hmmm. Up the 404, or the M25, neither seem particularly attractive?
I'd better not start trying to beat that then.

I was going to keep schtum because the only Bantam I've ever had was a D1.

I don't think you had to take the engine out to do the job on those.
