The Incredible Hulk misbehaved a tadge on the way home from the BOSM, enough
to sideline it a couple of times. This was clearly unacceptable, so I tore
    it to pieces this morning.

There's two fuel hoses from the tap to the carbs, which go to T-pieces
between carbs 1&2 and 3&4. These T-pieces have ickle plastic gauze filters
in them, which were mostly full of rusty debris. I've cleaned them out, and
put the whole heap back together again.

The test ride reveals that a stupidly high-speed cruise can be maintained
for as long as the fuel holds out. Sorted.

Oh, and it idles, and trundles, more smoothly, too.

If I'd been on my own...

Anyway, I'm contemplating taking it over to Chimay in July.

Would it not be worthwhile taking the tank out and clearing out the
aforementioned rusty debri before it builds up again?

It's a proper motorcycle with a steel tank.
