More likely to be fuckwits trying to fill small petrol cans from high
powered fuel pumps having never tried it before.

  3. Wanna bet? My Pan will take well over £20 worth.

Don't forget, that bikes (not one with cats, heh, like new BMWs) can
use LRP if you can find it. No one else will want it, so queue jump.

WMB Adventure with standard tank - 334 miles being run in so ridden

It looks like my decision not to sell the shite old Alfa may well pay
    off.

Bad form, but, if you were really desperate, I suppose you could use LRP
in a catalyst equipped bike just because they don't have to pass an
emissions test, so a dead cat. wouldn't matter.

Which bit of "topping up" did you miss ?

And as the owner of a car that takes more than a Jag, where does that
    leave me?

I regularly get 500 odd km out of my 1300 Pan, which is just over 300
miles. Not much over I'll grant you, but over nonetheless. ;-)

I've seen plenty evidence. I don't think I'm going to work tomorrow.
The gauge on the car was reading 0 for the last ten miles or so when I
tried to find a place that a) was open at all and b) wasn't queuing so
badly I couldn't find the end of the queue.

It gets pretty good mileage, but I can't run the thing on fresh air.
Looks like I'm off to journeytoforever.org to learn how to make my own
    biodiesel.

I thought it was specifically lead that screwed the cat. Do I take it that
the additive in LRP will kill it too?

  13. £22 in the Trophy recently.
Wrong - LRP is harmless to cats.

During the last spot of bother, in my last job, our then company car
fleet manager enquired of our tech bloke whether LRP poisoned cats, and
got an unequivocal 'no'. We asked a fuel technologist, and he said: "Not
unless you plan doing 50,000 miles on LRP".

So we asked Vauxhall, as all our cars were Vauxhalls, and they admitted
it was OK, but said it would invalidate the warranty.

The real problem, of course, is getting the wide LRP nozzle into the
    narrow unleaded filler hole.

There's a lot of conflicting advice on this - admittedly the risk of
using it once or twice if you're desperate is very slim - but, I'd be a
bit wary of it, especially for an older cat. that's already marginal on
    emissions tests.

That's good to know - the B12 has a big, wide, fat filler hole, for as
much petrol as it can get, which is appropriate.

  20. Well, that more or less bears out what we were told. It won't harm your
cat unless you use it a helluva lot over a helluva long time.
