Well hell.. sorry guys .. For some reason I couldn't get the flyer on my
desktop.. If you want more info, it is available on
www.jacobswell.com/tmra2.. The details I have are that the rally will be at
Greenway Park in Ft. Worth.. It will start at 10:00 Am and go to ?.. Guest
speakers will be there and should be enlightening.. Sputnik is one of the
speakers and he always gets a rise from the crowd...He is appealing to all
us, to show and be seen.. Our support is what he needs and we should be
responsible enough to gather and give it to him... Ride... ride..... ride..
    Let's do it..

I'm missing something as I couldn't find any details about the Ft.
Worth rally on the site other than we'd be allowed to park in the
    grass??

Ahh....that looks like it. Funny that there didn't seem to be a clear
cut agenda to the rally other than what appears to be a typical party
bashing of the other party. Think I will have to pass on that one.

I think it would be worth it just to hear Sputnik

  6. I hate the party bashing too, but we need to show up if we want to prove
that bikers are a force to be recongized. Sometimes you just have to take
one for the team. I know I could think of a dozen things I would rather do,
and another half dozen that I need to get done.
I don't make a lot of runs, but I'll be there when I need to...

Seems that a lot of people feel the same way.. Regardless of your party
support, some of the issues we have discussed on this n/g are crucial to us
all.. As a spectator, this gathering might be tiresome and boring.. no
interest to anyone.. As a participant, you might have the opportunity to put
voice to concerns that affect you directly.. The party afflicting the
disparities on us, is in office now.. I have attended town hall meeting and
other activities sponsored by the republican office holders and candidates..
I have voiced my concerns to them..This might be the opportunity to make
    yourself heard.. Your choice..

In that case Steve, the concerns of all of us are not being addressed.. I
have attended many functions sponsored by the republican party.. My voice
was heard.. mostly in opposition to many of the policies that the party is
embracing.. Merely showing up as a spectator isn't impressive.. Show up in
opposition and a participant. Making your voice heard whether pro or con, is
your right.. I, for one would defend your right to be heard..Think about
    it..

From my own families experience with you, I will agree with you totally..
You are definitely a "keeper", as a friend.. As far as the "party bashing"
is concerned, this party needs to be bashed.. Some of the concerns that
affect all of us should be addressed.. Loudly and Publicly.. The opportunity
to do this is not a frequent occurence.. Participating in a newsgroup is
self fulfilling, but unless you follow through and support your ideals and
beliefs publicly and at any given opportunity, there is something lacking..
    See you there, Elmer..

You might be correct on that account. If got some time to kill I may
head down there just for the heck of it. It's not that far.

Well the only thing is that I didn't see where there was any agenda
related to bikers. Maybe I didn't read the .PDF appropriately.

    those who are interested. ;-)

I'm trying to treat lightly here, as I don't really enjoy political
    discussions.

By simply being at this rally you are going to be viewed as, and in
favor of the democrats. Additionally, I saw some very strong
anti-Bush stuff on the flyer. Simply showing up will lump you into
    that group.

Saying anything in opposition to what the democratic rally party is
about will immediately get me lumped into the "republican" camp and
dismissed. And that is not what I would want to do, either.

I have to agree with Steve that a nonpartisan rally would be the way
to go where you could speak your voice as either a republican, or
democrat, or independent. Especially were it issues related to
    bikers. ;-)

Your opposition is noted and if you will also note, your personal invitation
has not been made.. I doubt that many bikers will notice your lack of
"solidarity" either.. Other issues besides party affiliation will be
addressed at this rally.. For example, I intend to take this opportunity to
address the insurance issue with many of the state and national
representatives who will be there.. I have several issues of interest to us
all.. Given this opportunity to address these issues with the senators,
congressmen and political figures who can help in these matters, I will
certainly take this opportunity to do so.. Thanks for your declaration of
    support and public interest..

This is billed as a political rally .. There will be leading figures of our
government there.. I intend to take this opportunity to address issues which
affect us all.. One on one and face to face with those leaders.. Insurance,
energy and electrical issues .. will be my main focus.. I will be heard and
I will speak out.. One man... one voice.. not too impressive, but I can
always say, I gave it my best shot.. Everyone has to work out their own
    issues..

With all due respect to Steve Rothstein, and, I consider the man to be a
friend.. I've always treated Steve with respect and it is mutual (I would
hope)..Now .. his politics as an individual is not a one size fits all
formula.. I have many friends and I use the word carefully, who are genuine
republicans and genuine libertarians, green party or whatever.. Our
friendships are as genuine as the party affiliations we ascribe to.. That
being said, I will repeat something that I believe... "The worst fear of any
corrupt politician is that all of us will come together and commence to talk
without bitterness and divisiveness.. If we do that, we will all be
surprised about how much we all have in common".. That is one of the reasons
I will attend any gathering where I have the opportunity to express my
views.. regardless of who the sponsor might be...

The problem with that, then you just have the politicians saying the
same thing to please the people listening. Think back to the 2000
campaign...all the candidates said and did the same thing. It was
either a "for the children" motto or a "prosperity should be enjoyed
by all". Yup, that worked. Our children are worse off now than before
and we have no prosperity for most of the people.

I was watching the TV yesterday when Bush hit the ground here in
Dallas. He was here to give a "BIG SPEECH" at a black church in Oak
Cliff. When he got there and the cameras showed the inside of the
church, all I saw was a bunch of white people milling around. Hmm.
Could it be that this isn't the typical crowd in this church? The only
blacks (other than the pastor) that I saw were some kids sitting
behind Bush...and they didn't look too impressed by his bullshit. Then
it hit me, that's not GOING to be the typical crowd in the church.
Secret Service wouldn't allow that. If I decided at that moment to
drive to the church and fellowship a bit, I wouldn't have been allowed
to stop and go in there. I watched and noticed the only one's who were
clapping and cheering were the white people who were put there by a
hand picked agenda. Sad, huh? And I seem to recall people making a big
deal out of Clinton on Veterans Day posing for a picture on a beach.

  18. go for it.
unfortunately, they are mostly all whores who are bought and paid for by
any given special interest, with very rare exceptions. i can think of
maybe two who aren't and even they play the game because they have to.

the biggest difference would be made if more people would show up at the
polls on voting day, but with under 40% public participation in the
process, we are getting exactly what we elect, or choose not to elect as
    the case may be.

want effective change? make drivers license renewals available only to
those who have actually voted. that's my version of motor voter
registration. scary thought that, mandatory participation in the process
of government. just remember the founding fathers wanted only male
landowners able to vote as they didn't trust the common idiot. (that' ll
    piss some people off)

as for parties pigeonholing me into some nice little demographic profile
to suit their purpose, it aint gonna happen. during my life i've been in
street riots and presidential headquarters cleared by the secret service
and i aint nobody's damn pigeon.

Since Sputnik is the one who's started asking motorcyclists to show
up, I'd have to ask about Sputnik's agenda. The last time I knew of,
Sputnik didn't want to organize an event which would be a conflicting
interest type arena. I'd be willing to bet, this would be an event
where everyone stands around in agreement with one another. How
powerful of a voice can you expect to be if the only response you
receive on your comments are either in agreement or "well, that's not
the purpose for this rally"? Kinda sad, but this is sounding alot like
that "grassroots" deal we went to in Crawford where they were planning
a protest to D.C. and drive by the Capitol without breaking any laws.
Hmm. How would anyone distinguish between the protest drivers and the
drivers going to and from work? I asked if they were at least going to
have signs and oppose/confront politicians. They said "no, we don't
    want to disrupt".

The last event I saw Sputnik at, it was at one of the hearings on
redistricting held in Austin. He sat through the meeting and when Lon
Burnham finally stood up and voiced opposition, Sputnik left the
meeting room. Now, is this the person who is asking for bikers in
Texas to show a "force to be reckoned with"? The last time I pleaded
with Sputnik to get involved with an issue which involves all of us
and show that bikers in this state were a "force to be reckoned with",
he turned me down flat telling me that he has a totally different
    agenda.

If Sputnik is serious about showing Texas bikers to be a "force to be
reckoned with", then he can start by organizing a rally protest on
issues which affect Texas bikers. I'm willing to bet he won't do that
since he's already said he doesn't do protests and "his" organization
    doesn't do protests.

Now, reading his "comments" on TMRA2's website, the most of what he's
talking about is giving a plaque to some woman and calling her "Da
Lady" (like, what is that?) and some woman who wanted to buy a jacket
at an auction. Is this the same "force to be reckoned with" person
who's urging Texas bikers to arrive in numbers? I'm also willing to
bet when you arrive at the event and get ready to park "on the grass"
to show your opposition, there will be an area roped off that you park
in and someone there to guide you around. If you ride your motorcycle
up on the stage and get the microphone stating loudly and plainly "Mr.
Perry, I'm a Texas biker and I'm coming after you" you'll be carted
off and scolded as "we don't want to be portrayed in opposition". It
would be said by Sputnik himself that you "don't represent the views
    of TMRA2 or it's members".

You know Sputnik. What do you think will happen if you raise your
voice in opposition of anything at that event? You know the other
players in this event. If I could be shown (between now and Saturday)
that Sputnik and the many other players in this event are serious
about standing up and showing that Texas bikers are a "force to be
reckoned with" then I'll be more than glad to show up and be right
there with them fighting all the way.

So, show me. Sputnik is an eloquent writer. Let him post about it and
say his intentions of this rally. Let him make his wishes for help
from the bikers in this state be known.

Sputnik Strain and me have had many differences over the years... In all
those years and differences, we have agreed to disagree many times.. That
being said, I will afford him the respect of being the head of a group which
can benefit many of the people I associate with.. He's asked for support of
the bikers in this area to attend this rally.. I plan to be there.. Chances
are that Sputnik and me will disagree on some things at this rally.. I will
not miss the opportunity to address some of the issues I hold important to
Sputnik and any other high profile person that will be there... We can all
stay home and let the opportunity pass, or we can all show up and be
heard... Meantime... some of us are talking about gathering at Joe's Coffee
Shop in Irving, eat breakfast and leave about 8:30 AM or so.. I will be
there at 8:00, in case someone wants to join us and we will ride over
    together...
