"More Fort Hood soldiers have died in motorcycle accidents in the last
six weeks than Lt. Gen. Rick Lynch's command lost in its last six months
    of combat in Iraq.

And he's trying to do something about it. "

    That's interesting.
They are correct, that a stickered bike does not necessarily mean that
the rider has taken the course.
I've had occasion to talk to a few guys after they returned from
Iraq. Quite a few think they are invincible and when they mention
getting a motorcycle, I have suggested the MSF course. So many don't
think they need it and if it wasn't a requirement, they wouldn't take
    the course.
Then again, some of those young guys have a death wish. I met one
that had gotten injured, while in Iraq. He was going back, "because
his buddy died and he didn't". He was a classic case for PTSD. Makes
me wonder how many young men like that, are riding motorcycles.
