FS ZXR 750

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by steve auvache, Jun 1, 2005.

  1. Billericay, H plate, blue, stood for 5 years, used in an appropriate
    manner.

    Dunno the mileage yet.

Geezer wants 800 for it. That is dearish for no mot right?

    Extortionate imo.

I'd give 350 to 400 quid tops if it'll start and run, **** all if it
    won't.

  3. If it's in good nick (and it'll almost certainly need a carb strip and
ultrasound clean), it's a fucking bargain. Rip his arm off.

For a thrashed ZXR that's sat for 5 years and has no MOT? You're
getting soft in your old age.

  5. Depends. Like I said, if it's in good nick, it's a steal. That is an
    embryo classic.

If, as you say, the engine and everything else is shagged, then as you
    were.

  9. You're not a heavyweight boxer, are you?

(I'm not referring to R1200RTs either)

  10. Engine as solid as all hell, but I doubt if it'll run, having been
    standing for five years.

Usual stuff - lockwiring, broken or badly resprayed/repaired plastics,
aftermarket shock and/or NWS linkage is almost de rigeur, head races
    don't last long, warped discs......

I don't think so. If the panels are not too bad and the frame is straight it
might be worth taking. IIRC it the one with the vacuum cleaner hoses.

It's a decent winter project for someone who is prepared to do a lot of
work, especially cleaning out the fuelling systems and electrics. They
    really are decent bikes.
