  2. oooh, forgot to mention it has a Toby steering damper fitted as well (turned
out to be quite good once I got the mounting bracket modified so it stayed
    together).

There, that should clinch a deal for me :)

    Location?

Alos was the "slight cosmetic damage" due to a previous crash?

    I might consider a swap.

I'd keep the Gixer, unless there was money coming my way too.

What was the K1, 2002/03? £5800 tops. I don't know much about Gixxers but
having ridden a mates 750 I'd stick with my 10.

Anyway, I appreciate the interest but swaps are out of the question, unless
it's a brand new KTM 640 Duke II with a bit of cash on top :)

K1 ranges from late 2000 (Y plate?) when it was launched to mid-2002
when the last were being registered. Mine, for example, is a K1 but
registered April 2002 on an 02 plate. The K2s were already out by
    then.

About the same as mine then, Mine was registered in May 2002. I wasn't
sure if mine was a K1 or K2 when I bought it. Hog had bought it as a K2
with K2 bodywork fitted and registered it in Northern Ireland as such.
The DVLA offices in Coleraine in NI had it down as a K2 on the V5, but
it came back as a K1 when I imported it back into England. I checked
the VIN against the Suzuki database and it is definitely a K1. I
suppose that saves me trying to buy new bodywork to replace the
immaculate K1 stuff that Hog fitted after his crash.

  11. It's in Norwich, sorry. No, the damage was due to a lampost jumping up
behind me as I wheeled it backwards out of my Sisters driveway. Caught the
end can square on and put a dent in the carbon sleeve where the bracket goes
round. I was going to sell it as a track can as it's still perfectly
serviceable. The bike has never been crashed or dropped.

Simple way to check is to look at the original link pipe on the
    exhaust. If it's black it's a K1, if it's shiny silver it's a K2.

Really? Mine's got a stainless link pipe, but it is most definitely a
K1. That's one of the reasons I was dubious about my bike's heritage,
but I have K2 style mirrors as well so who knows or really cares.

It's 3 years old now and modified in other ways, so all that goes out
    of the window now.

Doesn't really matter, other than paint work and little things like
that there was bugger all difference between them.

Actually there were quite a few imoprtant none visual changes. The
two most important were the anti judder spring fitted to the clutch on
the K2. Apparently the K1 clutches had a tendancy to grenade but I've
    never heard of one.

The K1 also knackers the 'O' ring in the TPS due to fuel contamination
off the rail. This was fixed for the K2 but you're highly unlikely to
experience this anywhere other than on the track.
